Kristian Peterson
Kristian is a seasoned real estate veteran in equity and debt investments across all commercial real estate asset types with experience in construction, repositioning, renovations, restructuring, syndications, financing, and securitization.
Prior to joining Catalyst Opportunity Funds, Kristian spent nine years at Fortress Investment Group as a Senior Vice President working in both the private equity and credit funds. He was responsible for leading a team in several equity and debt investment initiatives, including securitization of over $1 billion in middle-market commercial real estate mortgages. During his time with Fortress, he was responsible for the management of over $3.5 billion in total assets.
Kristian has over twenty years of real estate investment management, acquisition, and advisory experience. Before joining Fortress, Kristian worked as the Director of Consulting for a sustainability advisory firm, providing original best practice research reports and decision support to portfolio managers at top global real estate companies. He has also worked as a top advisor within a private equity syndication firm, underwriting over $2.0 billion commercial real estate acquisition, assembling a due diligence team and developing the process to evaluate acquisition and development opportunities.
Kristian holds a B.S. degree from Brigham Young University and a M.S. in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He co-authored a case study on real estate investing with Harvard Business School and authored industry reports on creating more sustainable commercial real estate, which was the focus of his graduate school thesis.
