Andres Castella
Andres is an experienced real estate investment professional with a background in debt and equity investments across all commercial real estate asset types with prior deal experience in construction, renovation financing, restructuring, work-outs, financing, and securitization.
Prior to joining Catalyst Opportunity Funds, Andres spent six years at Fortress Investment Group most recently as a Vice President working in both the private equity and credit funds. He was responsible for managing a portfolio of debt and equity investments across asset classes throughout the United States. Additionally, he worked to develop a securitization platform that originated, managed, and financed over $1 billion in middle-market commercial real estate mortgages.
Andres also previously worked for Highland Capital Management where he launched multiple new fund products in various investment structures including ETFs, Open-end mutual funds, and REITs. As part of launching one of the first publicly traded middle-market bank loan ETFs, Andres developed a proprietary model which performed analysis and selection of bank loan investments for the fund.
Andres holds a B.S in Finance from Southern Methodist University and is a CFA® charter holder. Andres has served on the Southern Methodist University Hispanic Alumni Board, is a Mentor in the CFA D/FW Society Mentorship Program, and has been appointed as Committee Member of the City of Dallas Zoning Ordinance Advisory Committee.
